Location

Nestled at the edge of the Luberon National Park, the retreat house opens directly into a landscape of thyme, rosemary, and endless walking trails. Here you’ll find peace, privacy, and nature – a true sanctuary for retreats. And yet, within a short walk lies the village of Les Taillades, home to the renowned L’Auberge des Carrières and local life steeped in Provençal charm. From here, the colorful markets of Lourmarin, Apt, Coustellet, and L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, as well as the famed villages of Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, Lacoste and Lourmarin, are all just a short drive away. A place where seclusion and accessibility meet, it is the perfect setting for rest, inspiration, and discovery.

This Provençal home is the second residence of renowned European herbalist Swanie Simon. Renovated with care, it blends simplicity and authenticity, using local and reclaimed materials wherever possible. Throughout the house, you’ll discover artwork from local artisans – paintings, pottery, and small sculptures – alongside the owner’s own creations: handmade quilts, painted stones, sunprinted batiks, lavender wands, and her beloved postcard-sized collages, uniquely sewn together. The result is a home infused with both tradition and creativity, the perfect setting for rest, inspiration, and discovery.
